Etta, German shepherd

Etta plays well with others — she's happy to keep company with other dogs. She's already house-trained and vaccinated.

We rescued Etta and her litter of puppies from the Riverside Shelter. She was a great mom and was great with her foster's other dogs, but she was very timid around people. All of her puppies found homes and it was then Etta's turn, but she couldn't be leashed and didn't want anything to do with anyone other than her foster mom, which doesn't help one get adopted. So, off to boot camp she went! Now, months later, she is a proud graduate of a world-renowned board and train, has no outstanding student loans, and is being walked/worked by several different people. She's much better, but is still timid with strangers.

Summer, German shepherd

Summer is a sweet female German shepherd dog currently housed at Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California.

Summer will get along great with your other dogs. She has been vaccinated and is house-trained.

Summer, a beautiful dog inside and out, was adopted through us in 2015 and just came back to us via OC Animal Care. Yes, those are old hematomas (now permanent scar tissue) on her still-infected ears. Yes, Summer is now safe, back in our care, has already been to the vet for treatment and she's feeling much better now. Even with her ears now all scar tissue and with an active infection, this beauty is such a sweetheart, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who isn't head over heels for her.

Missy, German shepherd

Missy is a darling female German shepherd dog in the care of Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California.

The rescue wants to place Missy in a home without small children. She's already house-trained and vaccinated.

Sadly, Missy's adopter passed away and now, at nine years old, she is back with us and looking for someone to love her. Her mom took amazing care of her and treated her GI issues flawlessly (Missy eats a prescription diet and that is all that's needed). This older beauty is easy on a leash, loves going for walks, is good with dogs who don't get in her face (she lives with a few of them, but they give her space and that makes her happy) and loves her people.

Diesel, German shepherd

Diesel is a male German shepherd dog being cared for at Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California.

Have no fear: He is already house-trained and vaccinated.

This guy was a little scared when first rescued, but he's come out of his shell and proved to be quite the charmer. Do you have a ball? Well then, he's also your best friend! This handsome boy is good on a leash, knows his basic commands and really (REALLY) loves balls.

Locket, German shepherd

Locket is a darling female German shepherd dog being cared for at Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California.

Locket loves other dogs, but is looking for a home without small children. Her vaccinations are up to date and she's already house-trained.

Notes from Locket's caretakers:

This beauty is very young (she probably just turned three years old), as she kept growing after we rescued her from a high-kill shelter. Locket couldn't be sweeter to the people around her, older kids included, but is very timid in new situations and new people, scared of loud noises and fast movement, and will need someone who is patient and can show her how to trust them.
