Up to 5 Inches of Rainfall in 24 Hours Brings Flash Flooding to Western North Carolina

Heavy rainfall brought flash flooding to portions of western North Carolina on October 7, with some areas receiving up to 5 inches over a 24-hour period, according to local news reports.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for areas of northeastern Georgia, western North Carolina, and upstate South Carolina until the morning of Friday, October 8.
