5 of the most unique camping experiences in SC for you to try this summer

Camping is a classic summer activity for many South Carolinians.

And why not?

The Palmetto State is loaded with natural splendor, from lush forests to scenic mountains and calming beaches. Heading outdoors to fish, hike or just look at the stars at night can be a fun and relatively inexpensive way to spend a weekend with friends or family.

Still, there are some who don’t care for traditional camping. Pitching a tent and climbing into a sleeping bag is not high on their to do lists.

Well, fortunately there are places in South Carolina that have those people covered. At these spots, visitors can have special, unique camping experiences and still enjoy the outdoors.

Here are five of the most unique camping experiences in South Carolina.

These round cabins can be found sitting on stilts atop of Lake Marion in Santee, South Carolina. Visitors can also walk around the dock behind the cabin to see beautiful water-bound cypress trees.

The cabins sleep six people, have air conditioning and are fully furnished with kitchens.
