Here are five numbers to know when Clemson (8-3) plays at 7:30 p.m. Saturday (SEC Network) against South Carolina (6-5) at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

South Carolina kicker Parker White needs four points for school record

South Carolina kicker Parker White needs four points to break the program record for points scored and four field goals to break that all-time mark as well. This season, Parker is 13-for-14 on field goals and 27-for-27 on extra points. Three more field goals will pull him even with Collin Mackie (1987-90) with 72 and three more points will pull him even with former kicker Elliott Fry (2013-16) with 359. Mackie is third on that list, followed by current NFL kicker Ryan Succop and running back Marcus Lattimore, the former Byrnes High standout who scored 246 points in only 29 games.

Five multiple-TD games for Will Shipley would set Clemson freshman record

If Clemson running back Will Shipley can score two rushing touchdowns, it would be his fifth such game, breaking the program record set by Travis Etienne in 2017. Etienne, the ACC’s all-time leading rusher, was a first-round NFL draft pick this year. Shipley had two TDs against South Carolina State and Georgia Tech in the second and third games of his career, as well as Oct. 30 against Florida State and last week at Wake Forest. Interestingly, all those were home games. Clemson running backs coach C.J. Spiller did it three times in 2006 and James Davis three times in 2005.

Clemson's defense had eight sacks last week against Wake Forest

Clemson’s defense was credited with seven sacks in last week’s game against Wake Forest and one more was added the next day. Tigers safety Nolan Turner was initially credited with a simple tackle for loss against Demon Deacons quarterback Sam Hartman, but review of the game film showed that Hartman was initially looking to pass, so Turner got a tape-delayed sack. The Tigers’ six sacks the previous week against Connecticut was a season high. The eight sacks were the most in a game since eight against Syracuse in 2019. Clemson’s record is 12 against Furman in 1996.

South Carolina's offense is No. 114 nationally for scoring in red zone

South Carolina’s offense is tied for No. 114 among 130 FBS teams in red zone offense and only 13 teams have been worse. The Gamecocks have gotten points on only 75 percent of their trips inside the 20-yard line (27-for-36) and eight of those were field goals. They have the worst percentage of rushing touchdowns and have scored just six on the ground. Clemson’s defense, meanwhile, is ranked third nationally by allowing points on 64 percent in the red zone, touchdowns on just 32 percent and only four rushing TDs for second-best behind only top-ranked Georgia.

Clemson's 333 rushing yards could mean big trouble for South Carolina

Clemson ran for 333 yards last week against Wake Forest, the most in a single game for the Tigers since 419 against Wofford in 2019 and the most overall since 419 against Georgia Tech earlier that year. The Tigers’ rushing game against Wake Forest was a breakout performance for a season in which they had averaged only 135.1 against their previous nine FBS opponents. Meanwhile, South Carolina ranks No. 95 among 130 FBS teams in rushing defense. In three of the Gamecocks’ last four games, not counting Florida (2-6 SEC), they allowed an average of 293 yards per game and 5.6 per carry.
