5 Ohio Companies Announce Layoffs, Furloughs Due To COVID-19

CLEVELAND — Five Ohio companies announced layoffs or furloughs this week.

ABM, Inc. in Cleveland, which handles parking for Hertz, had its contract canceled with the company. The lost contract will result in 67 employees losing their jobs on Oct. 4, the company said in a letter to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

In other Cleveland business news, Ruth's Steak House, run by RCSH Operations, will shutter on Sept. 27, leaving 47 Northeast Ohioans without jobs. The company said the closure is the result of COVID-19.
