5-year old, two others killed in Bridgewater crash

Three people were killed, including a 5-year-old boy, and three hospitalized in a two-car crash Saturday afternoon on Route 20 in Bridgewater, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

Edward Cutler, 51, of Taberg, one of the drivers, and his mother, Barbara Cutler, 72, of Taberg, a passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene at the scene, deputies said. Zander Boucher, 5, of Brookfield, a passenger in the second car, was also pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

Cutler’s wife, Michelle, 43, was transported to the St. Elizabeth Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System and then transferred to Upstate University Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition Saturday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.

Lindsay Bellair, 27, of Brookfield, the driver of the other car and Zander’s mother, was taken to St. Elizabeth and listed in critical condition on Saturday, deputies said. Her other passenger, her 1-year-old son, was transported to St. Elizabeth and then transferred to Upstate University Hospital where he was listed in stable but serious condition Saturday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.

After investigation, deputies determined that a 2010 Subaru Forester driven by Bellair was traveling westbound on Route 20 at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday when it crossed over a double, solid yellow line and struck the Cutlers’ vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu which was traveling east head on, deputies said.

Deputies are trying to determine the cause of the collision by reconstructing the accident.

The New York State Police, Bridgewater Fire and Ambulance, Edwards Ambulance, Mercy Flight, the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office and fire departments from Clayville, West Windfield, Waterville and Cassville responded to the scene.
