Earlier this year, the Herald-Tribune began making some stories available only to our subscribers. Usually, this is news that our staff has invested significant time in, or isn't available anywhere else, and we want out subscribers to have the first crack at.

Even if you're a digital subscriber you can still have the experience of reading the print version of the Herald-Tribune.

Get the most out of the customizable Herald-Tribune app
The Herald-Tribune app (available on the Apple App Store and on Google Play) offers customized reading experiences depending on how and when you want to get your news.
The main screen of our app is organized to put our biggest stories of the moment front and center and make it easy to find the latest news, but that's not the only way to find the stories you want to read.
Here are just a few examples of how to customize your experience:
Give your eyes a rest with Night Mode. You can also adjust the size of the text to fit your needs.
If you're busy, the app's "Popular" tab is made for you. You'll find 20 of the most-read stories from HeraldTribune.com over the last 24 hours.
Bookmark the stories you personally enjoy or are too busy to read now. Hit the bookmark button, and then find them under "Saved"
Keep sections you access often – like Ticket or high school sports – handy at the top of the section tab to get you there quickly and easily
Night mode, offline reading and notification settings are all available under the settings menu
Be alerted to the biggest news stories
Through the Herald-Tribune app (available on the Apple App Store and on Google Play), you can also get notified of all the biggest news as it happens. Just enable Breaking News alerts under Settings and Notifications to get notified when news happens.
You can also select subcategories of push alerts, including sports, entertainment and business.
Even without our app, you can learn about the stories you care about and get updates on our biggest stories. We have several email newsletters you can choose from based on what stories you want to hear about and when.
