5 reasons the Tide will take care of business against Arkansas

The Alabama Crimson Tide will be traveling to Fayetteville this weekend for their second conference game of the season against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas is ranked No. 20 in the country and is 3-1 on the year with their lone loss coming to the Texas A&M Aggies. Alabama on the other hand is undefeated and currently ranked No. 2 only behind the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Tide go into the matchup on a 14-game winning streak against Arkansas and Nick Saban has never lost to the Hogs during his tenure in Tuscaloosa. However, the Razorbacks gave the Tide all they could handle in 2021, but ultimately Alabama survived 42-25.

Here are five reasons why the Tide will walk away victorious from Fayetteville this weekend:

The Alabama rush defense has been stellar to start the 2022 season as they are only giving up 1.8 yards per carry. The Tide also faced arguably the best running back in the country in Texas’s Bijan Robinson, and they held him to 57 yards on 21 carries. If Arkansas can’t get their rushing attack going it could be a long afternoon for them.

Bryce Young shows time and time again that when the going gets tough they can lean on him. Whether it was Auburn in 2021, Texas in 2022 Young always finds a way to win and that is an incredible power to have. No matter the score or circumstance, as long as 9 is in the game Alabama has a punchers chance.

Will Anderson is heating up

Will Anderson is beginning to find his 2021 form as he posted 2.5 sacks last week against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Anderson could very well be the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and his play the rest of the way will be a key to the Tide’s success.

One of the few concerns Alabama faced the first few weeks was the receiving core. Despite talent all over the field nobody was stepping up and making plays until Ja’Corey Brooks changed that in Week 4. Brooks had six catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns and now Bryce has a solid WR1 to lean on.

The Arkansas pass defense has struggled massively to start the 2022 season. They currently rank 126th our of 131 eligible teams. If Bryce Young gets hot and finds his receivers the Hogs may be ready for roast.
