5 Columbia SC restaurants with some of the best deals for Valentines

Love is in the air in Columbia and so too are various deals from local restaurants.

Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away and while you could scramble to come up with a way to show your loved one how much you care, why not let a restaurant do all the work?

Several restaurants around Columbia have each organized unique specialty menus and or entertainment to attract customers and ensure you and your significant other have a night to remember. Just make sure to snag a reservation quickly, because they will likely fill up fast.

Here are five Columbia restaurants offering some of the best Valentine’s Day deals this year.

California Dreaming

When: Feb. 10-14

Location: 401 Main Street, Columbia

For couples who want to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but might not want to face the biggest crowds on the official holiday, California Dreaming has options.

The restaurant will be offering a special Valentine’s Day menu for five days leading up to the holiday.

The special menu will include filets, 2-3oz. with a broiled lobster tail served with mashed potatoes, broccolini and a Caesar Salad. You’ll also be able to add a lobster tail to any regular entree.

Smoked

When: From 4-10 p.m., Feb. 11-15

Location: 1643 Main Street, Columbia

Smoked will also offer couples multiple days to enjoy a special Valentine’s Day meal.

The downtown restaurant will provide a special menu for $120 a couple. The menu includes appetizers of either raw oysters or baked brie, followed by entrees of flounder or a 20-ounce steak for two. The dessert options will include flourless chocolate cake or chocolate covered strawberries.

The Venue

When: Feb. 2-15

Location: 1626 Main St., Columbia

The Venue is going all out for Valentine’s Day this year, offering multiple events over the next two weeks.

For starters, check out The Venue’s Valentine’s Day pop-up bar, where couples can get a variety of specialty, holiday-themed drinks.

From 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. every Thursday through Feb. 16, enjoy a night of fun entertainment with Stupid Cupid, a one-man parody show by Tommy Keys. Then from 7 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 11, enjoy dinner and a show with Tia Durant, the Princess of Soul.

Return to The Venue for a Valentine’s Day dinner with dueling piano players from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 14.

The Grand on Main

When: Feb. 14

Where: 1621 Main St., Columbia

The Grand plans to offer an assortment of specialty entrees to choose from in a three-course dinner for its Valentine’s Day menu this year. Guests will also have the option to preorder preset tables with a bottle of champagne and a dozen, half-dozen or single rose place settings.

Couples will get their pick between four options of appetizers, such as wings or spinach dip; four entree options, including salmon or pasta primavera; and chocolate strawberries alongside a dessert tray assortment.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House

When: Feb. 10-19

Where: 924-A Senate St., Columbia

Ruth’s Chris Steak House promises an unforgettable evening for couples who dine there during the week of Valentine’s Day. The upscale restaurant will offer a special chateaubriand for two and a multi-course meal featuring roasted tenderloin served with cognac sauce, plus two starters, two sides and a shareable dessert.
