EVANSVILLE — Holiday breaks are one of the best times to binge a little television.

Maybe there's a new series people hope to catch up on, or an old favorite there's just never been enough time for.

Anyone looking for something to stream has quite a few choices of shows with Evansville natives in recurring roles.

Here's a look at a few options.

Snowfall

Born in Evansville in 1979, actor Matthew Alan has made a name for himself on multiple TV series, both on cable and streaming services.

The Reitz High School graduate has had multiple-episode arcs on popular shows like "Castle Rock," "13 Reasons Why" and "Dahmer."

If viewers want to stream the show with the most opportunity to see Alan on screen they'll need to pick "Snowfall."

The FX show, available to stream on Hulu, has been going since 2017 and Alan's character entered the show in 2018.

His character, CIA Agent Havemeyer, has been in 19 episodes since then.

For a quick hit of early-Alan on screen, do a quick Google search for an infamous 2009 Folger's Christmas commercial.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Avery Brooks is in 173 episodes of the 90s show "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" if viewers are ready to dedicate some solid couch time to an Evansville native.

Brooks was born in Evansville in 1948 and lived in the city until he was 8 years old when his family moved to Gary, Indiana.

His role as Benjamin Sisko in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" made him the first Black captain to lead a Star Trek series.

The show can be streamed on Paramount+.

If sci-fi isn't quite the vibe families are looking for during the holidays, Brooks also offers a binge-worthy amount of episodes in the 80s crime drama "Spenser: For Hire."

There's 65 episodes with Brooks featured that can be found to stream on Tubi.

Dynasty

For 67 episodes of TV, viewers can watch Michael Michele on screen as Dominique Deveraux on "Dynasty."

The character makes its debut in season two of the show, adding more drama to the already theatrical show.

Michele was born and raised in Evansville, graduating from Bosse High School where she was heavily involved in sports. When the actress was named on of the "Great Bodies of '95" by People Magazine, growing up a Hoosier involved in sports was a big part of her explanation, according to Courier & Press archives.

The magazine even interviewed her high school basketball coach, Jerry Canterbury.

Streamers can find "Dynasty" on Netflix.

Barney Miller

Evansville native Ron Glass is in 164 episodes of "Barney Miller" as Detective Ron Harris.

The show, which can be streamed on Tubi, was a sitcom focused on the main captain Barney Miller, as well as the other officers at Greenwich Village's 12th precinct.

Glass was on the show from start to finish, beginning in 1975 and ending in 1982.

The University of Evansville graduate died in 2016 at 71. Prior to his death, Evansville honored Glass many times.

He was awarded UE's Medal of Honor and its Distinguished Alumnus Award.
