5-Star DL David Hicks’ commitment signals that the Aggies aren’t done yet

The Aggies 2023 recruiting class received some beyond fantastic news on Wednesday, as the top-ranked defensive lineman in the class, David Hicks out of Katy, Texas committed to Texas A&M, beating out the Oklahoma Sooners who were the presumed favorites according to multiple recruiting outlets going into his announcement.

Hicks’ commitment comes almost exactly two months after Top-20 ranked linebacker Anthony hill pledged his commitment to the maroon and white on July 30th, and through various social media posts, Hill, and a number of current 2023 Aggie commits are pledging to do whatever they can to help the class continue to grow, and maybe, just maybe, flip a couple of well-known recruits in the process. Take this beautiful tweet from recruiting insider AggiesToday as a sign:

Three names to keep an eye on: Notre Dame commit, safety Peyton Bowen, Alabama commit, safety Tony Mitchell, and Texas commit, safety Malik Muhammad, as both Bowen and Mitchell unofficially visited the Aggies on Sept. 17th during the Miami game, both witnessing a dominating defensive performance in a 17-9 victory. Malik Muhammad will officially visit College Station on Oct. 29th to attend the Aggies matchup vs. Ole Miss in their return to Kyle Field.

The lesson here for those who were upset about the “slow” recruiting process in the last couple months is that patience is the only path, and winning on the field does help more than you know. Gig ’em, and BTHO Mississippi State and the 2023 recruiting class.
