5 things to do in Manitowoc: Take an evening cruise on the SS Badger, dance at Fat Seagull street party and more fun events

MANITOWOC - Manitowoc has been host this summer to a powerful art exhibit that brings light to the epidemic of violence against Indigenous women, girls and two-spirits.

The “No More Stolen Sisters” exhibit opened April 24 at Rahr-West Art Museum and will close Sunday. It features 49 works by 33 artists, including nationally renowned Oneida beadwork artist Karen Ann Hoffman.

A closing reception for the art exhibit is one of several things to do this week on the lakeshore.

While you're checking out the art exhibit, also see the exhibit on American Indian boarding schools on display at Manitowoc Public Library, 707 Quay St. “Away From Home: American Indian Boarding School Stories,” a National Endowment for the Humanities On the Road Exhibition, remains on display through Aug. 11 during regular library hours.
