Open house and Frank Lloyd Wright birthday event at Gordon House

When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday

Where: 869 W Main St., Silverton

Tickets: $5 for adults. Free for 18 and under.

Event description: Celebrate Frank Lloyd Wright's birthday with a self-guided tour of the Usonian home in Silverton, which was built in 1964 and is Wright's only building in the state. Tour guides will be available to tell stories and answer questions.

'Exit Laughing' at Pentacle Theatre

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday (see website for additional showtimes through July 1)

Where: 324 52nd Ave. NW, Salem

Tickets: $17-$37

Event description: "Exit Laughing" explores what three Southern women from Birmingham do after one of their bridge foursome dies. What do they do? For Connie, Leona and Millie, they "'borrow' the ashes from the funeral home for one last card game, and the wildest most exciting night of your lives involves a police raid, a stripper and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you’re truly living," according to a press release.

Summer dances at Gerry Frank Salem Rotary Amphitheater

When: 7-9 p.m. Sunday (Gates open at 6 p.m. This event repeats July 9, Aug. 13 and Sept. 10)

Where: 200 Water St. NE, Salem

Tickets: $10

Event description: Family-friendly dance events featuring DJ Freddy Ruiz Jr. spinning classic tunes from the 1950s, '60 and '70s. Organizers said food trucks will be at the park. All net proceeds from the dances will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk counties, Center for Hope and Safety, and the Family YMCA of Marion and Polk counties.

Stride 5K/10K run/walk

When: 9-11 a.m. Saturday (This event repeats on the first Saturday of each month now through October).

Where: Riverfront, Wallace, and Minto-Brown Island parks

Tickets: $5 for 5K and $10 for 10K. Sign up at: https://egov.cityofsalem.net/ParksRec/Activity. Bibs can be picked up at the city's Customer Service Center or on the day of the event.

Event description: Fun runs will be held at Riverfront, Wallace, and Minto-Brown Island parks the first Saturday of each month now through October. Strollers and dogs on a leash are welcome.

'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' at Elsinore Theatre

When: 7 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday

Where: 170 High St. SE, Salem

Tickets: $17-$22

Event description: Students from Salem's American Ballet Academy will perform in Shakespeare's comedy, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream." Proceeds will be donated to Camp Kesem.
