5 things to do in Westmoreland County: Aug. 26-28

Aug. 26—Tonight's a wonderful thing

It will be a countdown to ecstasy for Steely Dan fans when Reelin' in the Years performs at 7 p.m. Friday in Greensburg's St. Clair Park for the penultimate date of the SummerSounds concert series.

The tribute band delves into the vast catalogue of the 1970s rock/jazz fusion band, including the 1972 hit that provides their name. The group is fronted by noted session drummer Rick Marotta and includes musicians who have played and toured with rock legends including Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Steely Dan founder Donald Fagen.

Donations are taken to support the free music series, which wraps for the season on Sept. 2 with the indie folk-pop duo The Sea The Sea. Popular local band The Bricks will open for Reelin' in the Years at 6:15 p.m.
