Feb. 10—More sculpture

"More Is More," a juried exhibit of the Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors, is showing through March 10 in the Harlan Gallery in the Seton Hill University Art Center, 201 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.

Featured pieces include floor and wall artwork, installations and works on pedestal, with a variety of textures and surface finishes.

Established in 1935, the Society organizes two annual exhibits: a members show and an open juried exhibition.

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays and 4 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. For more information, visit Harlan Gallery, Seton Hill University, on Facebook.

Calling all gals

Downtown Irwin businesses will participate in a Galentine's Day event on Saturday during their regular hours.

Visitors can shop for specials, get a bite to eat and participate in a heart scavenger hunt. Find a heart somewhere around town and redeem it for a prize at Feather's Artist Market & Gifts, 102 Fourth St. One prize per person.

Vendors will be set up in the Feathers gallery.

Photos and poetry

A reception for the photo exhibit "Jeannette Unvarnished" is set for 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at You Are Here, 406 Clay Ave., Jeannette. The exhibit features photos of local scenes by photographers Beth Yadamec, Steve Parsons, Candy Kubinec and Kim Rentler.

The reception will include a reading of poems inspired by individual pieces in the exhibit. Poets Kubinec, Bart Solar­czyk, Don Wentworth, Mary Ellen Raneri, Milo Wolverton and Tamara DiBartola each will present two short-form poems.

Attendees will be able to order a booklet of the paired poems and photos.

Love-themed art

"I Heart Art" is the theme for Family Fun Day, set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at The Westmore­land Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg.

Visitors of all ages can make love-themed art, participate in other activities and view works in the museum's collection.

Making music

Winners of the West­moreland Symphony Orchestra's 2023 Young Artists Competition will present a recital at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Seton Hill University Performing Arts Center, 100 Harrison Ave., Greensburg.

Admission is free.

Students in grades 9-12, chosen by the judges from their audition programs, will present pieces on clarinet, flute, piano, trumpet and violin. Finalists in the program competed Feb. 5 for cash prizes and a chance to perform in the recital.
