1. Jack O’Lantern “Vomiting” Experiment

Kids won’t be able to contain their excitement over this messy experiment. After carving your pumpkin, add in some baking soda. Next, mix green food coloring with vinegar in a separate glass. Pour the vinegar into the pumpkin and enjoy watching a mass of green suds spew from the Jack O’Lantern’s mouth.

2. Pumpkin Flower Vase

While not your typical spooky Jack O’Lantern, this pumpkin project does not disappoint when it comes to aesthetics. Simply carve a hole at the top of your pumpkin, making sure it’s big enough to fit a Mason jar. Once all the seeds are removed, place the jar filled with water securely in the pumpkin. Most importantly, enjoy arranging your bouquet of fresh flowers before displaying them.

3. Jack O’Lantern With Braces

Sometimes the cleverest ideas happen to be the easiest! First, carve out your Jack O’Lanterns eyes, followed by its smile, making sure its large teeth take up most of the mouth space. Last but not least, attach wall mounting hooks to each tooth, then string a wire through each hook to make the Jack O’Lantern’s braces.

4. Rainbow Crayon Pumpkin

Both kids and adults can enjoy this aesthetically and sensorily satisfying craft involving melting crayons over a pumpkin. First, peel off any remaining paper from the crayons. Next, take a small to medium-sized pumpkin and hot glue the chosen crayons around the top of the pumpkin, close to its stem. Once the hot glue is dry, place the pumpkin in a cardboard box and have your child help melt the crayons using a hairdryer.

5. Self-Care Pumpkin

Halloween can be a busy and stressful holiday for pumpkins! Let your pumpkin live their best life with a trip to the spa. First, paint your pumpkin white and let it dry. Next, draw its face on with a Sharpie. Then, paint around your pumpkin’s face as though you’re giving it a facial, using light pink, green, or blue colors to emulate the appearance of a clay mask. Wrap a towel around your pumpkin’s head, then let it relax.
