WORCESTER — The clock is ticking for Powerball winners to collect their $50,000 winnings before their luck runs out next month.

Three winning tickets purchased in Massachusetts, including two from Worcester County stores, in April 2022 drawings have gone unclaimed.

If no one comes forward to collect within a year of the drawing, the unclaimed prizes are added to the net profit the Mass Lottery returns to municipalities.

"We've been telling a lot of customers, but no one's come up," said Vijay Patel, owner of M & M Market at 169 Lincoln St., which sold one of the unclaimed tickets.

Patel said he finds it surprising the ticket, which expires April 2, has gone unclaimed this long, something he said has never happened at his store.

"If I had won, I'd have gone right away," he said.

Rutland store sold winning ticket

The other local store with an unclaimed ticket is Family Farms convenience store at 87 Main St. in Rutland.

"This isn't unusual," said Sue, a cashier who chose not to give her last name. "Sometimes people are just busy, forget or lose their ticket."

Sue said she isn't sure the prize will go uncollected, though.

"They still have until April 16," she added. "There's still time."

The third and final unclaimed prize is from a ticket purchased April 30 last year at Cumberland Farms, 581 Kelly Blvd., North Attleborough.

The $50,000 prizes are won through matching four out of five numbers to the drawing, plus the Powerball.

Prizes up to $103,000 can be claimed at Mass Lottery Regional Claim Centers, including in Worcester.

The Worcester location is 135 Gold Star Blvd., and is open from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you happen upon an old ticket before April 2 or April 16, 2022, check the numbers before you toss it out.
