50-year-old man killed in 2-car crash in Dover on Friday night

Dover Police

A 50-year-old man died Friday night following a two-car crash in Dover, police said.

Dover officers were called to Route 13 near North State Street at about 11:30 p.m. for reports of the wreck. There, they found the man badly hurt in his car.

He was rushed to Bayhealth Kent Campus where he later died.

Through their investigation, officers determined a 20-year-old woman from Smyrna was driving north on Route 13 by the McDonald's when the 50-year-old tried to turn left into the fast-food restaurant.

The woman's Buick Century hit the man's Toyota Corolla, causing it to spin into the McDonald's parking lot. The Buick stopped nearby after crossing over a grass median.
