500 COVID-19 shots given at Navy stadium mass vaccination site

Maryland's newest high-volume mass vaccination site held its soft launch Thursday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, administering 500 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. The vaccinations at the Navy stadium site are given inside a big white tent. Dozens of people who got their shots Thursday told 11 News the location was key as they had been waiting for a large clinic to open in the area. Others said it was age as younger people just became eligible to get the vaccine last week. Some people had to wait until this week to be eligible to get the shot, while others told 11 News they waited intentionally.
