51-year-old Oakland County woman wins $500,000 in Michigan Lottery instant game
An Oakland County woman is in shock after winning $500,000 playing the Hit $500,000 instant game, according to the Michigan Lottery.
The 51-year-old woman, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the instant game ticket at Spring Valley Party Store, 2823 East Highland Road in Highland.
“My friend went into the store and bought the ticket for me, and I scratched it when he got back to the car," the woman told the Michigan Lottery.
"When we saw the prize amount, we didn’t believe it was real. I took the ticket back into the store to have it checked. When the cashier confirmed the amount, I couldn’t believe it! I am still in shock.”

She plans to pay bills and vacation.
Players have won more than $14 million playing Hit $500,000, which launched in December, according to the the Michigan Lottery.
