54th annual Pioneer Days set for June 17-18

Jun. 7—The 54th annual Pioneer Days will be held June 17-18 in Rea Park in Royal Center.

Friday's activities start at 4:30 p.m. with Dan's Fish and Tenderloin (carry out only). A golf cart parade will begin at 8 p.m. with a lineup at 7:30 p.m. Entrants are invited to decorate their carts to show the best of the Pioneer community or the accomplishments of their family and friends. The Pioneer High School volleyball team dunk tank and youth league baseball and softball games are also scheduled at the park. The night concludes with a movie in the park starting at about 9 p.m.

Saturday's events begin with town-wide garage sales at 8 a.m. (call 574-643-3771 to get your name on the map. A car and craft show is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Rea Park. The Lions will sell Port-A-Pit chicken and chops at Rogers Auction Garage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (carry out only). Meals will be served at the park from 1:30 p.m. until supplies last. Fireworks will cap the weekend at 10 p.m.
