57-year-old Virginia man drowns off Outer Banks
A 57-year-old Virginia man drowned Friday afternoon in the Town of Duck, North Carolina.
Bystanders alerted authorities that a person was floating face down in the ocean near Buffell Head Drive, according to a press release.
Personnel from Duck’s fire department, surf rescue and emergency medical services dispatched to the beach at 5:41 p.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
