Authorities say a crash at the intersection of Outagamie County A and S in Center left one man dead and another man injured.

One driver was killed and another driver was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in the town of Center, authorities say.

The Outagamie County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened at 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Outagamie County S and A.

According to the sheriff's office, a pickup being driven by a 60-year-old Shiocton man was southbound on County A, approaching County S, and a 58-year-old Appleton man westbound on County S was approaching a stop sign.

The Appleton man then "failed to yield the right-of-way to the pickup truck and was struck," the sheriff's office statement said. The man died at the scene.

The Shiocton man sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital by an ambulance, the sheriff's office said.

The intersection was closed to traffic for approximately 3½ hours.
