58-year-old Parsonsburg woman dies in single-car crash outside Millsboro

A 58-year-old Parsonsburg, Maryland, woman died Thursday evening in a single-car crash near Millsboro.

At about 9:20 p.m., the woman was driving a Nissan Versa North on Lowes Crossing Road, just south of Carey's Camp Road, according to Delaware State Police. She failed to negotiate a sharp left curve in the road for unknown reasons, police said, and went off the east edge of the road before overcorrecting and losing control.

The car then slid across the road, went off the west edge, struck a mailbox and eventually collided with an unoccupied home, according to police.

The woman was transported by EMS to a hospital, where she died from her injuries early Friday morning, police said. She will be identified after police notify her family.
