UPDATE: Power restored after hundreds experience outages from wind

UPDATE: El Paso Electric says power has been restored across the region.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Hundreds of people remain without power across the Borderland on Sunday, March 24.

According to El Paso Electric, about 4,400 customers remain without power in 15 separate outages.

That is down from earlier Sunday when about 6,500 customers were without power in 25 separate outages.

El Paso Electric says the outages are caused by the wind.

Crews are working to restore power to customers as quickly as possible, but there is no estimated time for service to be restored, a spokesman told KTSM.
