6-alarm fire in Dorchester spreads to multiple buildings, including former Wahlberg home
Crews respond to a wind-whipped fire at a 3-family home in Dorchester that has now spread to multiple surrounding buildings. Officials said this is now a 6-alarm blaze due to the strong winds.
Flames broke out around 10 a.m. in the area of Peverell Street and Cushion Ave. and spread to three buildings in the area.
Firefighters said the flames “traveled to multiple streets” and were on the fourth floor and roof. All companies are working.
The BFD drone is up & aiding companies in knocking down the heaviest fire pockets, according to the department’s tweet.
Boston Fire confirms that 25 Peverell Street, the childhood home of famous actor and producer Mark Wahlberg, was among the four properties damaged in the fire.
In 2019, the Hollywood actor returned to the steps of the childhood home.

Boston Emergency crews responded to the fire to assist with medical aid. In a tweet, Boston EMS said “they have treated two people for minor injuries.”
