Miata is a dog-friendly girl, about 8 years old, who has great energy: not too high, but not a couch potato, either. She follows direction like a champ, walks well on a leash, is crate-trained, gets along with other dogs (big and small), loves children and is just looking for a family who would love to add a sleek beauty to their pack. Miata has Mega E, which is easily managed with her Bailey chair and a tweaking of her food and water. Don't be fooled, because this condition doesn't stop her from living her life to the fullest.

Hercules II, German shepherd

Hercules II is a lovable male German shepherd dog currently housed at Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California.

Hercules II is happy to keep company with other dogs. He is already house-trained and has had all of his shots.

Hercules II is probably experiencing life as a valued family pet for the first time in his life. Around 5 years old, he's found that he loves being inside the house much more than left in the backyard. Hercules gets along with dogs of all sizes, but he's not exactly sure how to engage in play and can sometimes look like he doesn't know how to approach other dogs. He's currently living with a large and small-to-medium sized dog and gets along with both.

Lux, Belgian shepherd

Lux is a male Belgian shepherd dog being cared for at Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California.

Lux gets along well with other dogs. His caretakers want to place him in a home without small children. He's already vaccinated and mastered his house-training etiquette.

From Lux's current caretaker:

He's such a great boy, but very timid around people he doesn't know. Once he knows you, he's affectionate and great on a leash. When he doesn't know you, he's skittish, so it'll take some time. When he knows you, he likes to lean against you, lets you pet him, cut his nails, give him a bath, brush him, etc. He spends his days playing with lots of other large-breed dogs, male and female, and going for walks with volunteers.

Sweet Pea, German shepherd

Sweet Pea is a sweet female German shepherd dog in the care of Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California.

Sweet Pea gets along well with other dogs, cats and kids. Her vaccinations are up to date and she's house-trained. Sweet Pea is a special-needs pet, so please inquire about her specific care requirements.

From Sweet Pea's current caretaker:

She is about 3 years old and a very special girl. Sweet Pea was born with a condition which causes her to have limited mental and physical capacities. (She has hydrocephalus, commonly called "water on the brain.") In Sweet Pea's case, most of the brain tissue has been replaced with fluid. While there is nothing that can be done to reverse her condition, she is stable and has a good quality of life.

Jake, beagle and hound mix

Jake is a male beagle and hound mix being kept at Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California.

Jake gets along well with other dogs. He is looking for cat-free family and for a home without small children. He's already house-trained and vaccinated.

His current caretakers say:

Jake came to us and was feral, because he was used as a breeding dog and wasn't socialized with people at all. His prior owners kept him in the bathroom and when they decided to move they didn't include him in their plans. Understandably, when we got him he wanted absolutely nothing to do with people, but he's come around with the people he sees every day and is phenomenal with other dogs.

Stark, terrier and schnauzer mix

Stark is a male terrier and schnauzer mix in the care of Southern California Pomeranian Rescue.

Stark will get along great with your cats and dogs. Stark is looking for a home without small children. He's already neutered, and had all his shots.

Here's what Stark's friends at Southern California Pomeranian Rescue think of him:

This guy is 6 years old and weighs 10 pounds. He loves to cuddle, go on walks and play. He gets along good with non-aggressive, small, calm dogs. He is loyal, active and playful. Stark loves to play ball and is eager to learn. He gets nervous around young children and has a history of biting, so best to go to a home with no kids.
