6 farmers markets in the Myrtle Beach area to feed your local shopping cravings this spring

If you want to enjoy South Carolina’s spring bounties, check out a farmers market. With the warmer weather, area farmers markets are opening up to visitors looking to stock up on fresh produce, try ready-made food and buy from local artists.

With a Benjamin’s coffee in hand, Adam Houmiel perused the 37 vendors at the tree-shaded Surfside Beach Farmers Market Tuesday morning.

Visiting from upstate New York with his wife and daughter, Houmiel described the farmers market as “nice, peaceful, a lot of energy. We just got here so I’m excited to see what they have.”

“You get the people here buying high-quality fruits and vegetables and we’re like an added, with the artwork,” Varallo said.”
