Update: 6 injured after 3-vehicle crash involving school bus on Perry Highway on Monday

Six people were taken to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment after a crash involving a small school bus on Route 97 in Millcreek Township on Monday morning.

Two special needs students, the bus driver and another adult on the bus were taken to Saint Vincent Hospital by East County EMS, Millcreek police said. Their injuries appeared to be minor, Belle Valley Fire Department Chief Jeremy Moreland said.

The bus, operated by P.M. Bus Inc., was on its way from Centerville in Crawford County to the Barber National Institute in Erie. The bus was heading north on Perry Highway (Route 97) near the entrance to the New Apostolic Church at 6005 Perry Highway when it was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Silverado that swerved into the northbound lane, police said.

After it was struck, the bus swerved into the southbound lane and hit a southbound Ford Focus.

The driver of the Silverado was taken to UPMC Hamot by Perry Hi-Way Hose Company. The driver of the Focus was taken to Hamot by Kuhl Hose Company, police said.

The crash happened at about 8:12 a.m.
