Six Lincoln County schools opened two hours late Tuesday due to a water main break.
According to the district, a water main that feeds the western part of the county broke overnight. All schools in that area operated on a 2-hour delay Tuesday morning.
The following schools were impacted:
Love Memorial Elementary School
North Brook Elementary School
Union Elementary School
Norris S. Childers Elementary School
West Lincoln Middle School
West Lincoln High School
Breakfast was not served Tuesday, the district said.
Lincoln County dispatchers told Channel 9 everyone between Lincolnton and Highway 27 near Harmon Road should have water by 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. Customers west of Highway 27 at Harmon Road should have water back by 9:30 a.m., dispatchers said.
