6-year-old killed in devastating Russian rocket attack on Chernihiv died of blood loss
The six-year-old girl that became the sixth of seven victims of Russia’s atrocious attack on civilians in Chernihiv’s city center died of blood loss, said Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko.
Patrolmen tried to save her life and stop bleeding by applying a tourniquet. But she nevertheless died from bleeding in hospital as she lost too much blood.
"The doctors' best efforts didn't help, unfortunately," the minister said.

The mother of the girl is in hospital in "critical condition," he added.
"Currently 36 people are in hospital (with a total number of injured is over 90), including police officers and court security employees. They all are civilians who were in the central square of Chernihiv or were passing by to a church complex nearby to celebrate the Apple Spas," Klimenko wrote.

An air-raid alarm had been triggered only two minutes before a missile struck the regional drama theater on the square, he said. People who were inside the theater had enough time to go down to a shelter beneath the building.
"This has saved many from the inevitable end," he said.
The death toll of the strike has risen to seven as of the publication time, while at least 117 people were wounded, including 12 children.
One of the injured is a 12-year-old girl being rushed to a Kyiv hospital by ambulance. She is in serious condition, the Interior Ministry reported.
The enemy used a ballistic missile, said Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Oblast Military Administration.
A drone exhibition, a popular church holiday, and sunny Saturday afternoon contributed to the high number of civilians in the city center at the time of the cynical Russian attack.
Mariia Berlinska, a Ukrainian military volunteer and a host of the exhibition, said that it was announced the exact location of the event was announced only hours before the event.
