Here are 6 places to cool off this summer in Sheboygan County, from beaches to waterparks
SHEBOYGAN - Sheboygan County offers many places to cool off this summer. There are the pools at The Breaker Bay Waterpark in Blue Harbor Resort, The Plymouth Aquatic Center and several of the local schools allow public access.
Here are six other places to enjoy the water in Sheboygan County.
Lakeview Park Beach
Lakeview Park Beach is along Lakeshore Drive on the south end of Sheboygan. The shaded park boasts a playground, picnic facilities and a large pavilion that can be rented out for large groups. Restrooms are available.
Dogs are allowed in the park, but must be leashed. Along the beach, however, dogs are allowed off leash.
King Park
Swimmers also can take advantage of the cool waters of Lake Michigan on the beach at King Park, which also offers a playground and a shelter that can be rented.
King Park is at 1615 S. Seventh St. in Sheboygan.
Deland Park
In addition to swimming, Sheboygan's Deland Park, 715 Broughton Drive, features beach volleyball courts, playground equipment, a boat launch, and a community center and shelter — both available to rent.
Kohler-Andrae State Park
The beaches of Kohler-Andrae State Park, 1020 Beach Park Lane, stretch for 2.5 miles along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Sheboygan.
In addition to swimming, park amenities include shelters, an amphitheater, nature center and places to camp, bike, hike or walk.
The Kohler-Andrae beach also is a good place for leashed pets to cool off, as dogs are allowed in the beach area north of the park’s nature center.
There is no lifeguard on duty and a vehicle admission pass is required to enter the park.
Quarry Beach
Quarry Beach, 3401 Calumet Drive in Sheboygan, serves up warmer waters than the beaches of Lake Michigan and fun for the entire family.
The waterpark offers both shallow and deep-water activities and plenty of beach space for sunbathing, volleyball, sandcastles and more.
Reserve a beach pass or an aqua park pass online. Walk-ins are allowed only as space permits.
Quarry Beach also offers a chance to rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard.

Fireman's Park, Elkhart Lake
Fireman’s Park, 411 S. Lake St. in Elkhart Lake, has a public beach that includes a concession stand, restrooms and sand volleyball courts.
There also are picnic tables and grills. Carry-ins are allowed, but no glass.
Admission is $4 for adults and $1 for children 12 and younger. Pets not allowed.
