These 6 SLO County restaurants have the best mac and cheese, Yelp says. Do you agree?
It may be a childhood staple, but there’s nothing basic about local restaurants’ takes on macaroni and cheese.
Popular review site Yelp recently shared a list of the best “decadent mac ‘n cheese” on the Central Coast, highlighting six San Luis Obispo County restaurants for their versions of this classic comfort dish.
Yelp reviewers raved about the mac and cheese at Linn’s Restaurant in Cambria.
In Morro Bay, Babydudes’ baked mac and cheese with candied jalapeños “comes highly recommended,” Yelp said.
Dan’s Grub Shack in Atascadero serves up mac and cheese on a bacon burger, while Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ in Paso Robles shows that barbecue joints can pull off the best pulled pork mac and cheese around, according to Yelp.
In San Luis Obispo, Black Sheep Bar and Grill got a shoutout for its “irresistibly delicious man ‘n cheese,” Yelp said, while reviewers called Grover Beach sandwich shop Fuego a “hidden gem” with “some of the best mac ‘n cheese around.”
At the risk of stirring up some deliciously cheesy controversy, we at The Tribune want to know: Did Yelp get it right?
