60 South Shore high school football players who starred on Thanksgiving

One of Massachusetts' best sporting traditions is high school football on Thanksgiving.

Those games create cherished memories for everyone involved from the players to the coaches and fans. City bragging rights, league titles and the taste of the turkey is on the line in these unforgettable matchups.

Al Bundy from "Married With Children" said the highlight of his life was scoring four touchdowns in one high school game. Imagine if he did that on Thanksgiving?

South Shore Tech 36, Holbrook/Avon 34 (2 OT)

Tyler Richards, SST: Richards played a role in all five TDs for the Vikings. He ran for four TDs and threw another to Todd Egan. He scored the tying TD in overtime and threw the walk-off two-point conversion to Ben Brenner.

Ashton Gabler, SST: Gabler rushed for 122 yards on 18 carries.

Brady Sheehan, Holbrook/Avon: Sheehan ran 26 times for 104 yards and three TDs.

Anthony Pettijohn, Holbrook/Avon: Pettijohn ran 12 times for 95 yards and a TD.

Archbishop Williams 14, Cardinal Spellman 7

Marcus Thurston, Williams: Thurston ran 34 times for 177 yards and a TD.

Matt Kowalski, Williams: Kowalski hauled in the winning TD pass and was tabbed as the Bishops' MVP.

Zack McBrine, Spellman: McBrine was selected as Spellman’s MVP.

Jack Duffy, Spellman: The quarterback scored the Cardinals' lone TD on a 6-yard run.

Abington 31, Whitman-Hanson 19

Tommy Fanara, Abington: Fanara set a school record with a 42-yard field goal.

Mike VanLuling, Abington: VanLuling scored his first varsity TD by returning an interception 74 yards for a score.

AJ Nash, Abington: Nash’s 45-yard TD catch was his first varsity TD.

Dasean Leggett, Abington: Leggett scored his first varsity TD by taking a screen pass 56 yards for a score.

Jake Guiliani, W-H: Guiliani ran 21 times for 167 yards and a TD.

Hunter Baker and Patrick Dolan, W-H: Both Panthers found the end zone once.

Milton 42, Braintree 7

Amari Marsman, Milton: Marsman scored four TDs.

Cameron Garrity, Braintree: Garrity hauled in a 38-yard TD pass.

Brockton 21, Bridgewater-Raynham 20

Jason Wonodi, Brockton: Brockton’s MVP was 7-of-13 passing for 303 yards and three TD passes.

Lucas Pires, Brockton: Pires hauled in an 88-yard TD pass.

Declan Byrne, Bridgewater-Raynham: The Trojans' MVP threw two fourth-quarter TD passes.

Dom Castillo and Logan Johnson, Bridgewater-Raynham: Both Trojans played well defensively.

Stoughton 47, Canton 15

Bahsor Mahn, Canton: Mahn had a long TD run for the Bulldogs.

Middleboro 40, Carver 11

Jacob Briggs, Middleboro: Briggs ran for two scores and threw for two more.

Cam Downey, Middleboro: Downey ran for a pair of TDs.

Nate Tullish, Middleboro: Tullish had a 40-yard TD run.

Cohasset 42, Hull 0

Henry Dionisio, Cohasset: Dionisio scored three TDs.

Appleton brothers: Liam threw a 15-yard TD pass to James. Liam also threw two other TD passes in the win.

Duxbury 38, Marshfield 28

Matt Festa, Duxbury: Festa threw for 380 yards, four TDs and added another on the ground.

Matt Cielieski, Duxbury: Cielieski hauled in 10 catches for 199 yards and two TDs.

Brady Madigan, Duxbury: Madigan had a pair of TD receptions.

Owen Masterson, Marshfield: Masterson threw four TDs in the loss.

Jason O’Keefe, Marshfield: O’Keefe finished with 119 yards of offense and scored twice.

East Bridgewater 21, Rockland 7

Gavin McCloud, EB: McCloud had a 30-yard TD run.

Aidan Purcell, EB: Purcell scored on a 67-yard run.

Chris Oman, EB: Oman hauled in a 30-yard TD reception.

Brett Armstrong, Rockland: Armstrong had a rushing TD (12 yards) in the loss.

Hanover 35, Norwell 7

Ben Scalzi, Hanover: Filling in for Michael Landolfi at QB, Scalzi threw for over 300 yards and four TDs.

Dylan Rice, Hanover: Rice finished with two TDs and 200 yards receiving.

Hingham 22, Scituate 14 (OT)

Will Griffin, Hingham: Griffin scored the tying TD in regulation and the winning TD in overtime.

James Cannon, Scituate: Cannon hauled in a pair of TD passes (12 and 74 yards).

Oliver Ames 34, Sharon 7

Collin Williamson, Oliver Ames: Williamson ran for two TDs and threw for another.

Chad Silva, Oliver Ames: Silva ran for two TDs.

North Quincy 15, Quincy 12

Nate Caldwell, NQ: Caldwell hauled in the winning TD pass with 1:22 remaining.

Hunter MacIsaac, NQ: MacIsaac started the Raiders' comeback from a 12-0 deficit with a TD run.

Drew Boretti, Quincy: Boretti threw a pair of TD passes for the Presidents.

Silver Lake 14, Pembroke 13

DJ Gilmore and Jacob Barnett, Silver Lake: That duo hooked up for the wining TD on a triple-reverse pass from Gilmore to Barnett.

Plymouth South 34, Plymouth North 32 (3OT)

James Mahon, Plymouth South: Mahon hauled in the winning two-point conversion pass in triple overtime.

PJ Murphy, Plymouth South: Murphy ran for four TDs.

Dallas Murphy, Plymouth North: Murphy, a cousin of the aforementioned PJ, ran for three touchdowns and threw a 60-yard TD pass to Anthony Ferrante.

West Bridgewater 56, Southeastern 26

D.J. Amaya, WB: Amaya ran 10 times for 108 yards and two TDs. His scoring runs in the second quarter flipped a 12-7 deficit into a 21-12 halftime lead.

Will DeLuca, WB: DeLuca rushed seven times for 106 yards and two second-half scores – a 32-yarder and a 66-yarder.

Joey LeClerc, WB: LeClerc was part of a three-headed monster at running back, carrying nine times for 89 yards and a TD.

Sean Carter, WB: Carter had a hand in three of the Wildcats' five sacks.

Luke Destrampe, WB: The sophomore kicker was 8 for 8 on PATs.

Nick Levine, SER: The Hawks' quarterback was 10-of-22 passing for 153 yards with a TD and a pick.

Levante Brown, SER: The senior ripped off a 49-yard TD run and added five catches for 118 yards and a score.

Catholic Memorial 57, BC High 34

Ben Evee, BC High: Evee scored a pair of TDs in the first half.
