61-year-old bicyclist who died after being hit by a car identified as Rockford man
Authorities have released the name of the cyclist who died days after being hit by a car in Rockford.
According to the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, the victim was Jose De La Luz Paz, 61, of Rockford.
De La Luz Paz was hit by a car while riding his bicycle near East State Street and Arnold Avenue around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 15.

The vehicle drove off after hitting De La Luz Paz, according to witnesses on scene.
De La Luz Paz was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries early Wednesday morning, according to the coroner's office.
The coroner's office said De La Luz Paz died from his injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash and no arrests have been made at this time.
