A 62-year-old man goes back inside house tented for fumigation — and never comes out
A SWAT team in special hazmat gear found the body of a 62-year-old man Tuesday afternoon inside a California home tented for fumigation.
“It appears that he wanted to check on his home and thought it was safe, but it wasn’t,” said Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, according to The Whittier Daily News.
The house in Whittier, near Los Angeles, had been covered by a tent to be fumigated for termites, KTLA reported.
The homeowner, identified as Zbigniew Dembinsky, apparently went back inside the home after exterminators had left and was overcome by the fumes, KABC reported.
Workers called for help after finding his body inside about 3 p.m. Tuesday, KTLA reported.
No other injuries or danger to the community were reported, according to The Whittier Daily News.
