A famous West Texas ranch, which recently sold for more than $320 million, now has a new claim to fame after H-E-B named the Quest for Texas Best winners, according to a news release.

H-E-B's Quest for Texas Best announced five winners in their ninth year of the competition. The winners for 2022 were:

  • Grand Prize of $25,000: Annie Leal's I Love Chamoy, Chamoy Salsa from McAllen.

  • First Place prize with $20,000: Ashley Cameron's Love & Cookies, Frozen Cookie Dough from Lakeway.

  • Second Place prize with $15,000: Karim and Mansour Arem's ZWITA, Spicy Traditional Harissa from Houston.

  • Third Place Winner ($10,000) - TIED: Brent and Juan Reaves - Smokey John's, Smokey John’s BBQ Rub (Dallas)

  • Third Place Winner ($10,000) - TIED: Burnett Ranches LLC - Four Sixes Ranch, Chuck Wagon Chile Mix (Guthrie)

There was a two way tie for third place and both won $10,000. Brent and Juan Reaves, of Dallas, won with Smokey John's, Smokey John’s BBQ Rub. Burnett Ranches LLC also won with Four Sixes Ranch Chuck Wagon Chile Mix from Guthrie.

Along with the money, the winners' products will appear on H-E-B shelves.
