PORT ST. LUCIE – A 67-year-old man critically injured in a crash last weekend died Tuesday, Port St. Lucie Police stated Wednesday.

The June 24 crash, which involved four vehicles, happened at U.S. 1 and Southeast Lennard Road in southeast Port St. Lucie, police said.

Richard George, 67, of Port St. Lucie, drove a Toyota Camry north on U.S. 1, and struck a Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle stopped in the left turn lane, according to police and Sgt. John Dellacroce, police spokesperson. That caused the Mitsubishi to crash into a Jeep Cherokee, which struck a Toyota Corolla.

George was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and died Tuesday, police stated.

The occupants of the other vehicles were either uninjured or sustained minor injuries.
