67-year-old woman injured in Brockton house fire

BROCKTON – A resident of a home on Division Street was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after sustaining injuries in a fire, according to Brockton Fire Chief Brian Nardelli.

At around 12:37 p.m., the Brockton Fire Department received a call about a building fire at 53 Division St.

When firefighters arrived, the resident, a 67-year-old woman, was on her way out of her home with the help of her neighbor, with injuries to her legs, abdomen and hands.

"We believe the fire started on the second floor of the home in the bedroom," Nardelli said. "But the cause of the fire is still being investigated at this time."
