$6M In COVID Relief Grants Awarded To Prince William Non-Profits

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — This week, the Prince William County government and the Human Services Alliance announced their first round of COVID relief grants. The first round of grants will give $6,000,000 to 33 different non-profit organizations around the county.

“As we move into this next phase of recovery from the pandemic, we are hoping to address some of the lasting impacts on our community," Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chair-At-Large Ann Wheeler said in a news release. "Many of the recipients chosen by the Greater Prince William Alliance address these impacts as well as continue to support our community into the future."

The funds are part of $10,000,000 awarded to Prince William County from the American Rescue Plan Act. The county plans to administer all the funds by 2024.

“While our previous grant programs have focused on COVID-19 relief, we are eager to shift our focus to addressing our community’s longer-term needs by investing in more lasting interventions,” Chelsi Conaway, the executive director of the Human Services Alliance said.
