The 7 Best New Movies on Netflix in October 2022

Netflix’s October original film offerings are dominated by two movies at opposite ends of the spectrum: Henry Selick’s “Wendell & Wild” and Edward Berger’s “All Quiet on the Western Front.” The former sees the legendary stop motion artist behind “The Nightmare Before Christmas” directing his first feature film since 2009’s “Coraline.” The film features former comedy partners Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele voicing a pair of mischievous demons who team up with a teenage girl in their attempts to reach the land of the living. “All Quiet on the Western Front,” on the other hand, gives Erich Maria Remarque’s legendary WWI novel the cinematic treatment, portraying the war in all of its brutality.

In addition to its high profile originals, the streaming service is once again rolling out a stacked collection of existing films. This month’s offerings lean more towards slick entertainment than high art, but there are plenty of gems that will entertain even the most discerning of cinephiles. Keep reading for our list of the seven best movies that begin streaming on Netflix this month.
