7-game Sneakers for Santa an early holiday gift for Indiana high school basketball fans

Get ready for a full day of high school basketball on Saturday at Brownsburg High School.

The Allstate Insurance by Ryan Owens Sneakers for Santa Shootout will feature seven games. Cost is $10 for the full day. Kids ages 6 and younger are free. All participants and fans are encouraged to donate new or gently-used sneakers on the day of the event at the main entry.

Here is a look at the schedule for Saturday:

Brownsburg vs. Plainfield, 10 a.m.: The first game of the day is potentially a preview for the Hendricks County tournament and the sectional. Plainfield defeated Brownsburg 29-28 last season for its first sectional championship since 1999. The Quakers are 2-0 to start the season with wins over Avon and Cascade, led by senior Cael Vanderbush (23.0 ppg, 9.0 rebounds). Brownsburg is 2-1 and has been led by junior Elhadj Diallo (19.7 ppg).

Gary 21st Century vs. Tuscola (Ill.), 11:30 a.m.: Gary 21st Century is 1-0 after a 76-70 win over Tindley. The Cougars were young a year ago, but are led by juniors Ashton Williamson, Quintin Floyd and D.J. Moss. Williamson had 21 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the opener. Tuscola is led by 6-4 point guard Jalen Quinn, a Loyola of Chicago commit.

Hammond Central vs. Fort Wayne North Side, 1:15 p.m.: Jordan Woods, a 6-3 junior, leads Hammond Central, which lost 60-58 in its season opener to Bosco Institute. Fort Wayne North Side dropped its season opener, 57-45, to Lawrence North. The Legends are led by junior Brauntae Johnson, who averaged 17.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists last season.

Crispus Attucks vs. Linton-Stockton, 3 p.m.: Attucks is 1-0 after a 79-44 win over Shortridge. The Tigers are led by senior Christian Nunn, who scored 24 points in the opener, along with sophomore Ron Rutland III and senior James Smith. Linton-Stockton is off to a 2-0 start. The Miners are led by junior Joey Hart, along with Braden Walters and Logan Webb. Linton-Stockton was 23-5 last season and won a sectional.

Carmel vs. Homestead, 4:45 p.m.: Carmel is 1-1, bouncing back from a three-point loss to Zionsville with a 39-33 win over Cincinnati Elder. The Greyhounds are led by seniors Pete Suder and Charlie Williams and junior Sam Orme. Homestead senior Fletcher Loyer, a Purdue recruit, is averaging 29.5 points through two games for the 1-1 Spartans.

Lawrence North vs. Heritage Christian, 6:30 p.m.: Lawrence North is without Indiana recruit C.J. Gunn but are 2-0 with wins over Noblesville and Fort Wayne North Side. Mac Brown averaged 17.5 points per game in the Wildcats’ two victories. Heritage Christian (0-1), led by junior Purdue recruit Myles Colvin, lost 70-53 in its season opener to Columbus North.

Cathedral vs. Brush (Ohio), 8:15 p.m.: Cathedral (2-0) is led by 6-11 junior Xavier Booker (17.0 ppg, 7.5 rebounds), junior Jake Davis (15.0 ppg, 5.0 rebounds), senior Jaxon Edwards (14.5 ppg, 3.5 rebounds) and senior Tayshawn Comer (12.5 ppg, 8.5 assists). Brush (1-0) is led by senior Elmore James, an Ohio commit, 6-8 junior Tyler Williams (several Division I offers), 6-6 junior Marlon Barnes Jr. (offers from Miami of Florida, Pitt, Rutgers) and 6-7 senior Antwone Woolfolk, a Rutgers commit.
