7 make up tips for ladies with glasses

Eyes are the window to the soul, so wearing glasses can make things a little more complicated when it comes to wearing makeup. Here are eight tips to make your eyes shine and ensure that they aren’t hidden behind your frames.

1. Dab a little concealer under your eyes. This is one of the most important steps because glasses frame your eye and bring more attention to it. You want your eyes to be the star, not your dark circles or fine lines.

2. Setting your concealer and foundation with a loose powder is also key. Not just because it prevents your make up from melting off but also because it keeps those pesky glasses from sliding down your nose.

3. Your glasses frame your eyes but your brows frame your face so take a little time to define them. Try combing them upwards with a spoolie brush and filling in any sparse areas with a little powder. Never over-pluck them!

4. Don’t be afraid to pick a mascara that adds length and volume. It will add drama to your eyes and make them pop behind your frames. Curl your lashes before applying mascara so that they don’t press against the lenses.

5. When you’re wearing eyeliner with glasses, it’s a good rule of thumb to match the thickness of the line to the thickness of your frames — the thicker the frames, the thicker the line can be.

6. Don’t over do it with colourful eye shadows. If you’re going to wear eye shadow stick to neutral tones. Not only do they require minimal effort, they also complement all eye colours. A light champagne shade all over the lid will make the eyes look bigger and is quick and easy to do.

7. The eyes aren’t the only feature you could focus on. If you don’t feel like playing up your eyes, try a bold lip option. A bright colour can perk up your complexion and make it look as though you’ve made more effort with your makeup than you really have.

Now wear those glasses with confidence and go forth and slay.
