7 OC Restaurants Close Due To Coronavirus Exposure

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The rising tide of coronavirus cases in Orange County hasn't spared local restaurants, seven of which have had to close temporarily in recent days after employees either tested positive for COVID-19 or were exposed to the virus, the Orange County Register reported.

In Los Alamitos, the Original Fish Company and sister restaurant Off the Hook both closed June 30 after three of the restaurants' more than 110 employees tested positive. Owners plan to reopen July 15 after cleaning and sanitizing both restaurants, they wrote on Facebook.

Adolfo's Mexican Food in Laguna Beach said July 1 that one of its owners had tested positive and stayed home while showing symptoms. The restaurant closed immediately until further notice and hoped to test all staff, they said on Facebook.

In Anaheim, Golden Road Pub announced on June 30 that it was closing following an employee's positive test. Following cleaning and sanitization, the pub reopened to customers on Wednesday, the restaurant said on Facebook.

Augustino's Italian Restaurant in Garden Grove said on July 1 it would close after employees were exposed to someone who had COVID-19. By Monday, Augustino's said no employees had tested positive and would reopen the following day.

In Huntington Beach, 25 Degrees said on June 30 it was closing in order to test all employees after some staff were exposed to someone who tested positive. No planned reopening date was given in the restaurant's Facebook post.

Meanwhile, several locations of Stonefire Grill, including Fountain Valley, Irvine and Chatsworth have all reopened after closing due to confirmed COVID-19 cases, the Register reported.
