7-year-old Pensacola boy critically injured in Mobile Highway crash

A 7-year-old Pensacola boy was in critical condition after a crash Tuesday afternoon on Mobile Highway.

An SUV driven by a 39-year-old Pensacola woman was traveling east on Mobile Highway at about 2:15 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. A pickup truck, driven by a 24-year-old Lillian, Alabama, man, was traveling west in the opposite direction.

The SUV swerved left into oncoming traffic to avoid a stopped vehicle, causing its front left portion to collide with the truck’s front left portion.

The SUV's driver and 14-year-old female passenger, of Pensacola, suffered serious injuries, while the boy, also a passenger in the SUV, was critically injured.

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
