These 7 Pennsylvania cities have some of the quickest homes sales in US, analysis says

Seven Pennsylvania areas made a recent ranking of the 50 places where homes are selling the quickest. Four of those cities made the top 10, and Pennsylvania claimed all three of the top spots.

On the list are Scranton, Montgomery County, Allentown, Harrisburg, Reading, Lancaster and York.

Website Stacker looked at more than 300 metro areas in the U.S. for the analysis, using data from real estate site Redfin on median days homes spent on the market and how many units were sold in April.

The 50 cities on the list are seemingly bucking trends in the national real estate market, which Redfin reports is slowing down. The number of homes sold across the country is down 25.5% year-over-year, and Redfin reports a downturn in Pennsylvania as whole with home sales down 23.9% year-over-year.

Sales are strong in many parts of central Pennsylvania. In April, the median sale price in Centre County was up about 14% over the five-year average, according to the Centre County Association of Realtors’ monthly report.
