[There are spoilers ahead for the second season of Mindhunter. If you haven’t watched yet, feel free to save this post for another date.]

The second season of Mindhunter dropped this past weekend, and there is SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT. As you probably know by now, Bill Tench and Holden Ford took on the Atlanta Child Murders while Dr. Wendy Carr stayed behind to work on their protocol and basically hold down the fort.

The season raised a bunch of questions. We’re here to discuss the most important ones that need to be addressed in the third season (if there is one).

Is this BTK thing ever actually gonna happen?

For the past two seasons, Mindhunter has been teasing out plot points for the BTK killer. If you thought you were going to see Holden and Tench take him down this season, though, you were apparently wrong. So that’s gotta be a thing next season, right?

Where did Nancy and Brian go?

When Tench got back from Atlanta, his wife and son had packed up their stuff and left him. But seriously...where did they go? Is he ever going to hear from them again? And how is Nan going to explain this to Brian?! It seemed like Tench was the only one who could get through to him.

Where is Ted Bundy in all of this?

I’m just saying, this show is RIPE for a Zac Efron cameo, and the timelines would work. Ted is in prison when this season takes place, and he died in 1989, so it’d make sense for Holden and Bill to go interview him.

Where did Holden’s ex-girlfriend go?

I know they broke up, but the fact that we didn’t see her a single time this entire season was kinda surprising. Like, not even a call? No “WYA” voicemail? I live for that drama and I needed it!

Is Dr. Carr seriously going to be put on desk duty?

After she and that other agent whose name I don’t even remember went to interview Elmer Wayne Henley Jr. in New York, her new boss, Gunn, not-so-subtly told her she’s not allowed to go interview people anymore. She has to stay back to “analyze.”

That’s pretty ridiculous, considering the special agent she was with totally sh*t the bed while they were doing that interview and she had to handle the entire thing herself. That’s why you never send a man to do Beyonce’s Dr. Wendy Carr’s job.

Are they going to let Agent Barney join their team?

When Tench and Carr were hiring Agent Smith, they passed on Agent Barney because they were worried the color of his skin would interfere with their project. Now that Agent Barney basically put the team on his back during the Atlanta Child Murder investigation, he should definitely be allowed to join the team, right?

Are we going to have to wait another two years for season 3?

This isn’t a question about the plot, but the second season of Mindhunter dropped TWO WHOLE YEARS after the first. Here’s hoping that doesn’t happen again.
