These 7 Sacramento bars, breweries and taprooms are kid-friendly — no babysitter needed

Have you ever wanted to go out and grab a drink, but didn’t have time to find child care? In Sacramento, you don’t have to worry.

There are several bars that will permit you entrance, even if your little one is with you. California law states that as long as an establishment serves food, minors are allowed on the premises but cannot sit at the bar or bar-designated tables, according to the California Restaurant Association.

Below are seven bars, beer gardens or breweries that will allow you to take your kids inside:

Drake’s: The Barn

Drake’s: The Barn is a community gathering spot and often has entertainment along the river and various lawn games. You can relax with friends and family on lawn chairs in their open meadows area, according to its website.

SacYard

SacYard is a kid-friendly tap house that also allows dogs. It features fire pits and outdoor games for both children and adults, including corn hole (also known as bags).

Jackrabbit Brewing Co.

Jackrabbit Brewing Co. allows “well-behaved children and dogs,” according to its FAQ page. The bar hosts events including live music, trivia, and bingo.

Hop Gardens

Address: 2904 Franklin Blvd., Sacramento

Hop Gardens is a Curtis Park taproom that hosts trivia at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, according to its Instagram.

Urban Roots

Urban Roots is a craft brewery and smokehouse. On Tuesdays, select 16 oz. beers are $5 all day long. The selection varies from week-to-week, according to its website.

Fire Taproom

Address: 8140 Delta Shores Circle, Suite 100, Sacramento

This kid-friendly taproom is a self-pour brew house, bar and restaurant, featuring a kids menu. For information on events hosted by the bar, you can visit its Instagram.

Device Brewing Co. Taproom + Kitchen has three locations across Sacramento and all of them are family-friendly.

According to the visitation policies at the Pocket/Greenhaven location, kids must remain at tables and dogs can come if they’re kept outside.

Each locations hosts a weekly trivia night.
