7 Sioux Falls places to shop for used, discounted furniture without delays, supply issues
Record home sales, full apartments, supply chain stoppages and the rise of websites to list your property for weekend stays have all led to a furniture shortage.
Ikea is warning of price hikes, according to Furniture Today, and other chains are on backorder. And other options online offer cheaper furniture that breaks down easily.
But in Sioux Falls there are several places, from charitable to consignment, at prices from free to high-end to shop at now. And the best time to stop in and make a purchase is right away, if you have a certain item in mind.
"We've got five or six holds now (that last for 24 hours) but they'll be gone and sold tomorrow. Furniture is flying off," Marlin Schlenker, co-owner with his wife of Resale Living, said of new customers ranging from Montana to Minnesota shopping their selection online or in their store. "If you want something now, I'd say hold or buy it now."

Instead of waiting months for an online order, these seven different stores or charities have options to make your house a home. Several ship too, but check first.
There are also several other thrift chains in the Sioux Falls area not included on this list that offer an assortment of furniture, but have been nearly out of stock when visited by Argus Leader in recent days.
