1. Santa Cycle Rampage

The Santas are back with the Santa Cycle Rampage, a 12-mile bike ride featuring Santa-clad riders starting and ending at Wisconsin Bike Fed, 187 E. Becher St. The pedaling starts at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $24 for adults, $5 for kids; proceeds benefit Bike Fed. Info: wisconsinbikefed.org.

2. Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 'Christmas Carol' opens

3. Third Ward's Christmas in the Ward

Christmas in the Ward, the Historic Third Ward's holiday shopping season kickoff, hoists the holly from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in Catalano Square, with music, reindeer, fireworks and Santa. Admission is free. Info: historicthirdward.org.

4. Holiday Lites in Miller Valley

Holiday Lites, the drive-through light display along State Street in Miller Valley, starts up Dec. 2, from 6 to 10 nightly through Dec. 25. Admission is free. Info: millerbrewerytour.com/events.

5. Community Free Day at Jewish Museum Milwaukee

The Jewish Museum Milwaukee, 1360 N. Prospect Ave., is hosting a Community Free Day for Milwaukee County residents Dec. 4 from noon to 4 p.m., with its current exhibit "Jews in Space: Members of the Tribe in Orbit." Info: jewishmuseummilwaukee.org.

6. Family Free Day at Milwaukee County Zoo

The Milwaukee County Zoo's monthly Family Free Day is Dec. 3, with no admission from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Parking fees still apply.) Also, although it's not free, the zoo's Wild Lights show is back, starting Dec. 1 and available most nights through Dec. 31; tickets for the light show are $15, including parking.
